  In brief, since most archaeological sites are protected, property owners should check with the Archaeology Branch to determine if there is a protected site on their property by completing the BC Archaeological Data Request Form. If there is a site on the property, you will need to Engage a Professional Archaeologist to complete an archaeological site impact assessment prior to development.
