How Crown Land is Managed
With the vast majority of British Columbia’s
land publicly owned, it is essential that our
natural resources are well managed to benefit
both present and future generations. Government
manages Crown land for the benefit of all
British Columbians.
The all seasons resorts dealt with by the branch
are generally located on provincial Crown land
outside of the parks system.
With many different competing uses for Crown
land, government works to ensure a balanced approach
is taken, so British Columbians, now and in the
future, can enjoy a sustainable flow of economic,
environmental and social benefits.
Crown land is used in many different ways. These
are controlled through tenures and other agreements,
which can be granted to permit particular activities
on Crown land, such as use for all seasons resort
development.
Resorts entirely located on private land are not
the responsibility of the branch.

land, see the links on this page. |
